Wrote this song about two or more years ago.A bit before I wrote it I went to a Richmond church called ‘the vineyard”,it was a small open minded Christ believing church,no dressing up,all kinds of people.I grew up in a church called Christ fellowship[p which was established by my parents and others that were part of a home church that itself started as a laid back bunch of different people who wanted to know the LORD better.I became super angry and depressed and filled with rebellion and strife in my early teens and I turned my back on G-d.The next 15 years were a downhill spiral into darkness,doom,depression,fear,sadness and all that goes with it.I moved to Richmond to get away from influences that I was not strong enough to avoid.I believed in G-d but I hadn’t changed all that much but when my parents invited me I went and it was really great for me,they didn’t judge anyone and preached the love and grace of Jesus.Before I went to the vineyard,and during that time I started to question the things I had come to believe in,some of these beliefs were quite strong and I had made them key parts in my life.This song is about the realization I had believed lies not based on facts but based on ideologies and anger.I don’t write this to show how “religious” I am or how righteous I am.I am flawed and broken, I’m not better than anyone nor am I here to preach how people are going to “burn” in hell.I am saying G-d loves me,and he loves you.He is not against you,despite how many Christians make people feel,he is actually for you.He hates no man nor woman,he hates sin,but not the sinner.Period.Period.Period.You don’t have to become like what you think a christian is, Jesus will come into your heart now,as you are,with problems and imperfections and he will change you.You don’;t have to be religious nor change everything you think.All you have to do is believe and call on the name of the LORD.I love you all
